Thusrday (11/9), Universitas Indonesia through IWK UI (Ikatan Wanita Keluarga UI – UI Family Women Union) held a Scholarship Grant for the children of UI staffs and employees. This scholarship is for those who are in the 1st to 12th grade. The event, that was held in UI Convention Center, was attended by the Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs Department, Prof. Dr. Bambang Wibawarta, Eva Anis as the head of IWK UI and Tika as the representation of BNI UI which supports the scholarship by providing BNI Taplus for Children savings accounts.
From 40 children of Fasilkom UI staff members that were listed as the candidates of grantee, 16 children were chosen. The selection was quite tight because each child has to be highly achieved in their classes. In his speech, Prof. Dr. Bambang Wibawarta congratulated the chosen children and wished that they will be a part of UI (student) family and lead a better Indonesia. He also thanked IWK UI for the support that facilitates the children of nation to be more developed and qualified. To entertain, the Angklung teacher in UI along with foreign students from South Korea, Japan, and Taiwan, who name their team “Saputangan”, showed their skill in playing Indonesia’s traditional musical instrument, angklung. Besides that, the traditional dance Topeng Gong (Gong Mask) performance from one of the grantees, Myuhensi, also enlivened the event.
For the same purpose, IWK Fasilkom UI also held an IWK Fasilkom UI Scholarship Grant for Children of the Faculty’s Staffs and Employees. Held on Friday, September 12, 2014, the scholarship was granted for 24 children. The event, which was held in Room 3112, was attended by the parents (Fasilkom UI staffs), the 1st to 12th grade grantees, Henny Suhartanto and Rini Nugroho (IWK Fasilkom UI), and Kasiyah (Vice Dean for Resources, Venture, and General Administration of Fasilkom UI). The grantees of IWK Fasilkom UI Scholarship and the organizers thanked all the donors, which are the heads and lecturers of Fasilkom UI who voluntary grant scholarships for the children.
