Fasilkom UI held a training for Fasilkom UI Young Lecturers on August 18-21, 2011. The training aims to build cooperation and communication and to equip the young lecturers with knowledge, attitude, and mentality to deal with students in class and to give academic guides. The training itself was given directly from senior lecturers of Fasilkom UI with various subjects.
The session was started by Lim Yohannes Stefanus, a Fasilkom lecturer, who also acted as a training facilitator. The other presented speaker were Erdefi Rakun, Widijanto S. Nugroho, and Kasiyah Junus. The given training subjects were Teaching Skill, Active Learning Components, Learning Motivation, and the Ethics of a Lecturer. The three-days-training involved 13 young lecturers as well as the new lecturers who are recently enrolled in Fasilkom UI.
The event was closed by The Vice Dean for Education, Research, and Student Affairs, Petrus Mursanto. He stated his hope for the training to be helpful for young lecturers in Fasilkom UI especially in the teaching process, so that the young lecturers can apply effective and efficient learning process and create an attractive atmosphere in class.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for me to learn directly from the experiences of the senior lecturers in Fasilkom UI. However, I also hope to learn from the other new lecturers here especially about how do they find the solutions from the perspective of a new lecturer in Fasilkom UI,” said Nurul Qomariyah, a young lecturer in Fasilkom UI.
