An alumnus of the Faculty of Computer Science of Universitas Indonesia, Michel Hamilton,  mentioned that the digital banking business in Indonesia is growing very fast in comparison to other countries in South-East Asia. This current chief strategy, transformation & digital officer of Maybank Indonesia also mentioned that the pandemic surprisingly necessitates a faster implementation of digital banking.

“If we look closely, Indonesian citizens actively use digital transactions. This is an interesting phenomenon, Indonesia as a developing country has a really high digital adaptability,” mentioned him on the Maybank Indonesia Media Training M2U 2020 webinar.

Realizing this phenomenon, he and his team at Maybank Indonesia developed a mobile banking application that has been downloaded by over 900,000 users since last year.

Michel Hamilton is an alumnus of the Faculty of Computer Science of Universitas Indonesia class of 2000 who, for the past several years, has been leading the transformation team with his hands-on experience on digital projects, analytics, and other technological projects.
