He is a professor for Knowledge Representation and Reasoning in the Computer Science Department at the Technische Universität Dresden, Germany. His research interests include logic and deduction, logic programming, knowledge representation and reasoning, cognitive theory as well as connectionism.
Abstract:
The weak completion semantics is a novel and computable cognitive theory. It is based on ideas from logic programming, non-monotonic knowledge representation and reasoning, and skeptical abduction. In the talk I will introduce the weak completion semantics, extend it with equality, and show how this extension can be applied to moral decision making.
