Faculty of Computer Science Universitas Indonesia (Fasilkom UI) organized a national event in field of Information and Communication Technology COMPFEST X on 29 – 30 September 2018 in Balairung Universitas Indonesia, UI Depok Campus. The COMPFEST X carried out a theme of “Unveil the Future by Advancing Education of Technology in Indonesia.” This year is the 10th of COMPFEST event being conducted since its premier in 2009.
Opening ceremony COMPFEST X was conducted by Dr. petrus Mursanto (Fasilkom UI Vice Dean) and Zieggy Ronnavelly (COMPFEST X Project Officer). Mirna Adriani, Ph.D. was also among the invites (Dean of Fasilkom UI) and Prihandoko (Chair of the Faculty of Computer Science Alumni/ILUNI Fasilkom UI). Besides them, COMPFEST X keynote speakers had also their roles in making the event become more exciting: Aoura Lovenson Chandra (CEO – Famous.id), Vincent Iswara (CEO, DANA), Muhammad Shiddiq Azis (EO & Co-Founder – Inagri), Imron Zuhri (CTO – HARA), Malik Krishna (Senior Technical Program Manager – Bukalapak), Matthew Tanudjaja (Lead Global Engineer – LINE Indonesia), Diatce G Harahap (Head of Business Intelligence – Kudo), Adi Tedjasaputra (CEO – BJTech), Faris Rahman (Co-Founder & CTO – Nodeflux), Ardya Dipta Nandaviri (Senior Data Scientist – GO-JEK), Yuandra Ismiraldi (Head Of Cloud – Bukalapak), Fajar Jaman (Founder & Managing Director – IYKRA), Yoel Sumitro (VP of Product Design – Bukalapak), Ramda Yanurzha (Head of Research – GO-JEK), Rama Raditya (Founder & CEO – Qlue), Setiaji (Head of Jakarta Smart City), Senja Lazuardy (Co-Founder AR&Co & IT Director – WIR Group), Andes Rizky (COO – Shinta VR), Albertus Aldo Tjahjadi (Associate VP Buyer Experience – Tokopedia), Sofian Hadiwijaya (Co-Founder – Warung Pintar), Riza Herzego Nida Fathan (Co-founder – Cozora), and Andrias Ekoyuono (Chief Marketing Officer – Kumparan).
COMPFEST X consisted overally of Academy, Competition, Playground, Seminar, and Entertainment events. Several events had priorly started since May 2018. The Academy theme events were carried out to explore and expand attendees’ potentials in Information and Communication Technology field in Indonesia, improve their skills, knowledge and extend networks they can obtain through shared experiences and conversations with the experts and keynote speakers. Number of topics focused on in the academy series of events were Data Science, Software Engineering, and Startup. On this occasion, all participants were trained individually and in group for several days according to their chosen interest topics. Competition was intended for level of competency developments and competitiveness in the community for Information and Communication Technology subject. During the series of competition event, participants were taking part indirectly to collaborate with dozens of institutions and companies in the field of Information and Communication Technology. Therefore, competitions available for join were Business IT Case, Competitive Programming Contest, Capture the Flag, Chatbot Invasion and Indie Game Ignite. Playground event theme was also part of the event serial; there were Information and Communication Technology exhibitions that introduced development of Information and Communication Technology in form of products to the society. This series had more than 70 Information and Communication Technology enthusiasts as participants from Start-ups, IT communities, game developers, to Information and Communication Technology industrial communities.
Bringing forward the theme of Unveil the Future, COMPFEST X Seminar offered keynote speakers to speak in 10 classes to conduct discourses in Information and Communication Technology topics, such as Blockchain Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Data-Driven Culture in Business, Smart City, Digital Business and so on. The peak of the COMPFEST X event was Entertainment series with Guest Star Raditya Dika, Eno Bening and Agung Hapsah. This COMPFEST X event was supported by PLN Indonesia, GOJEK, Traveloka, Tokopedia, Bukalapak, LINE Indonesia, DewaWeb, Bank BTPN, SanQua, Warung Pintar, Frisian Flag, International Design School, and Kennedy Voice & Berliner. COMPFEST X is expected to become a platform for Information and Communication Technology enthusiasts and developers to discuss and intereact with one another, share all variety of knowledge and experiences with purposes in developing Information and Communication Technology competencies and digital ecosystems in Indonesia.
