Saturday (15/9), Faculty of Computer Science Universitas Indonesia arranged an event conference for new students’ parents 2018. This conference was conducted in the new building of auditorium Fasilkom UI. The event has an objective to tighter the good relationships between faculty stakholders and new students’ parents to smoothen communication lanes regarding the Faculty of Computer Science Universitas Indonesia distribution of information about learning, other on campus activities and so on. The event was begun with the opening speech by Dean of Fasilkom UI, Mirna Adriani, Ph.D. followed by the other faculty chairs; Dr. Petrus Mursanto (Vice Dean for Education, Research, and Student Affairs), Dr. A. Nizar Hidayanto (Vice Dean for Resources, Venture, and General Administration), Ari Saptawijawa, Ph.D. (Head of Undergraduate and International Programs in Computer Science), Dr. Indra Budi (Head of Undergraduate Program in Information System), and Puspa I. Sandhyaduhita, M.Sc. (Manager of Academic and Student Affairs).
This conference scheduled of three sessions which aligned to study programs in Fasilkom UI: Computer Science, Information System and Interational Program. The first session was to talk about Computer Science Program. Next session was to explain the International Program of Computer Science and students’ preparations to continue the study with Fasilkom UI partner universities abroad. During this session, Fasilkom UI included the representatives of every partner university; University of Queensland, RMIT University, Australian National University, and Deakin University. Third session was about the explanation in Information System Program.
The event ended by a presentation from the chairman of the Faculty of Computer Science Parents, Students, Lecturers and Alumni Association (POMDA), Prihandoko, Ph.D. He delivered the association’s hopes that new students’ parents would be actively involved in the organization to support and look after the students thoroughly. Despite that, student programs were also introduced by Iis Afriyanti, M.Sc. together with the chair of the Faculty of Computer Science Student Council (BEM Fasilkom UI).
