Fasilkom UI succeeded to leave its marks in the 2014 Asia Startup and Hackathon, Jakarta, held by Tech in Asia on November 26-17, 2014. This is an international competition for startups and applications in Asia.
In the Asian Hackathon, Fauzan Helmi Sudaryanto, Caraka Nur Azmi, Rasmunandar Rustam, Taufan Satrio and Riska Fadila from Fasilkom UI team achieved the title of the Overall Winner as well as the first winner from Challenge PayPal category. They brought home a total of USD 1000, a Parrot AR 2.0 Drone and the Hackathon Asia Champion trophy with their creation, Siaga Banjir+ app. This is a development from the previous Siaga Banjir app. The upgraded app is added with a map of flooded area generated with crowdsourcing. Before the upgrade, the app has achieved an award in an international event held by the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR) from World Bank Group.
The first winner for Challenge Intel category from Fasilkom UI team, which are Ginanjar Ibnu Solikhin, Luqman Sungkar, Rafi Putra Arriyan dan Yusuf Cahyo, was awarded a Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 for their app, Pushla. This HTML 5-based application uses Intel XDK to top-up phone balance.
Another achievement is made by a Fasilkom UI alumnus in the startup competition. Andreas Senjaya (Fasilkom 2011) was awarded USD 10.000 and a Startup Asia Arena Champion trophy for iGrow, a product made by their startup, Badr Interactive. iGrow succeeded to eliminate the other 8 finalists from Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, and many others. This application is a platform for green infrastructure that is available for everyone. iGrow provides a system for plantings supervision and administration, so that the growth of any plant can be monitored from time to time.
