The Independent Accreditation Institute for Informatics and Computers (LAM INFOKOM) awarded a Excellent Accreditation rating for Doctor of Computer Science (DIK) and Master of Computer Science (MIK) study programs, Faculty of Computer Science (Fasilkom) University of Indonesia (UI) through a Decree (SK) 006/SK/LAM-INFOKOM/Ak/D/XII/2022 and also 132/SK/LAM-INFOKOM/Ak/M/XII/2022.
As of March 15 2022, LAM INFOKOM has held an activity to equalize perceptions and refresh assessors who were previously assessors for the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT). UI through Fasilkom became the first institution to gain the status of Excellent for the doctoral and master level in the field of computer science.
Dean of Fasilkom UI, Dr. Ir. Petrus Mursanto, M.Sc. said Fasilkom UI must be the leading institution in developing computer science and information technology in Indonesia. “With the excellent accreditation results of the MIK and DIK study programs, I hope that students, especially the MIK and DIK study programs, are able to create, develop and apply science and technology to increase the nation’s competitiveness,” said Dean Mursanto.
The MIK Study Program itself emphasizes integration between postgraduate education and research activities. Students are expected to be actively involved in research at the UI Faculty of Computer Science. The MIK study program curriculum is structured in such a way that students get the opportunity to gain extensive knowledge and research experience in the field of computer science. Choices of courses are provided so that students can arrange their educational programs according to their research interests. The MIK study program curriculum is designed to be completed in four semesters, and the longest is six semesters, carried out with a study load of 40 credits.
The DIK study program curriculum is designed and structured in such a way that students get the opportunity to gain extensive knowledge and experience doing research in information and communication technology (ICT) fields such as computer science, information systems, software engineering, and others. The DIK study program curriculum is designed to be completed in six semesters, and the longest is 10 semesters, carried out with a study load of 46 credits.
