The late Mirna Adriani was born in Magelang, December 23 1961 and died at the age of 58 in Jakarta, July 15 2020. The deceased earned a B.Sc. from Calfornia State University, Pomona, California, USA in 1989 and Ph.D from Glasgow University, Glasgow, Scotland, UK in 2000.

The deceased served as Dean of Fasilkom UI for two periods, starting from 2013-2017 and 2017 until the time she passed away. Previously, he served as Deputy Dean for Education and Research at Fasilkom UI in 2008-2013.

During his tenure as Dean of Fasilkom UI, he initiated many collaborative programs in education and research with well-known universities and institutions at home and abroad. Among other things, the deceased initiated the birth of Tokopedia – UI Artificial Intelligence Center of Excellence which was inaugurated in 2019. Tokopedia – UI AI Center of Excellence is the first artificial intelligence (AI) development center in Indonesia that uses deep learning super computer technology from NVIDIA, NVIDIA ® DGX-1.

In her scientific field, the deceased was listed as the initiator and manager of the Information Retrieval Lab at Fasilkom UI since 2006. In addition, she also actively served on the Board of Trustees of the Indonesia Association of Computational Lunguistics in 2016-2018. In 2020, he plays an active role in drafting the national artificial intelligence strategy policy as Chair of the Artificial Intelligence Talent Development Working Group.

For her dedication as a lecturer in Indonesia, she received the Makara Dharma Bhakti award. In addition, the deceased also won the Yuwono Sudarsono Award as UI Best Researcher in 2007.
