DESCRIPTION:Seminar Reboan\, in collaboration with the APTIKOM Lecturer Competency Division\, presents an engaging topic with speaker Prof. Dr. Putu Wuri Handayani 🤩✨ \n  \nDesigning a Framework for an Online Community Assistance Ecosystem to Assist Disabled Stroke Survivors and Caregivers in Accessing Health Services \n  \nSpeaker’s Brief Biography: \nProf. Dr. Putu Wuri Handayani is a professor of e-Health in the Faculty of Computer Science at Universitas Indonesia. She earned her doctoral degree from the same institution and has over 13 years of research experience in the field of e-health. Her expertise lies in the design\, implementation\, and behavioural analysis of e-health systems\, applying both quantitative and qualitative methodologies. Her research spans collaborations with diverse stakeholders\, including health regulators\, providers\, and patients. Currently\, she is leading projects on e-health systems in Indonesia for stroke communities\, cancer and maternal health recommender systems\, mobile health message framing design and dementia information system. In addition to her academic duties\, she serves as a member of the Data Management Committee at Hermina Group Hospital\, a public company managing over 51 hospitals across Indonesia. In this role\, she supervises the implementation of the hospital information system. She has published several books on e-health\, presented widely as an invited speaker on data management and e-health topics\, and previously served as a consultant to the National Health Insurance Agency (BPJS-K). Her teaching focuses on e-health information system subjects\, reflecting her commitment to both impactful research and education in the e-health domain. \n  \nAbstract: \nThis research project involves the exploration of locally relevant end-user knowledge to design and develop a digital intervention that responds to diverse health and bodily experiences. While this project is focused on stroke\, the online ecosystem framework (CAEF) can be adapted to other health conditions. The focus on local knowledge ensures that the online CAEF responds to the needs of geographically disparate environments and populations\, where access to specialists can be challenging. Research outcomes will be broadly applicable in Australia and Indonesia\, by providing care and support strategies and tools for isolated and hard-to-reach communities in each country. DESCRIPTION:Deskripsi Topik: \nMeskipun Large Language Models (LLMs) dan Vision-Language Models (VLMs) menunjukkan kemampuan generalisasi yang kuat\, pengembangannya masih didominasi oleh data berbahasa Inggris dan Eropa. Akibatnya\, konteks budaya yang terinternalisasi dalam model sering kali tidak selaras dengan budaya lain\, sehingga diperlukan cultural alignment sebelum model digunakan secara luas di berbagai masyarakat. \nSesi ini akan membahas temuan dari sejumlah karya ilmiah di konferensi bergengsi (ACL\, EMNLP\, TACL\, dan CVPR) mengenai performa model yang belum optimal pada tugas commonsense reasoning\, pemahaman teks prosedural\, dan interpretasi multimodal lintas bahasa. Penelitian yang akan dipaparkan mencakup pengembangan benchmark bahasa Indonesia\, analisis transfer lintas budaya di dunia Arab\, pembangkitan cerita dalam bahasa Sunda dan Jawa\, hingga pembangunan cultural knowledge graph menggunakan LLM. \nProfil Singkat Pemateri: \nDr. Fajri adalah Assistant Professor di Departemen NLP\, Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI). Dr. Fajri meraih gelar PhD di bidang Engineering (Natural Language Processing) dari The University of Melbourne di bawah bimbingan Prof. Timothy Baldwin dan Prof. Jey Han Lau\, dengan dukungan beasiswa Australia Awards. Pendekatan konvensional seperti downstream tasks\, metrik n-gram\, dan benchmark pilihan ganda dinilai tidak lagi cukup untuk mengukur kemampuan model secara komprehensif. \nSesi ini akan membahas perkembangan metodologi evaluasi LLM\, termasuk keterbatasan dari berbagai pendekatan yang ada saat ini. Selain itu\, akan dibahas pula bias struktural baik dalam penilaian otomatis maupun evaluasi berbasis manusia\, serta pentingnya pergeseran menuju kerangka evaluasi yang lebih dinamis dan mendalam guna memahami kemampuan AI secara lebih akurat. \nProfil Singkat Pemateri:\nAlham Fikri Aji\, Ph.D. merupakan peneliti di bidang Natural Language Processing (NLP) yang berfokus pada efisiensi model melalui compression dan distillation\, serta pengembangan NLP untuk bahasa dengan sumber daya terbatas. \nIa aktif dalam pengembangan dataset\, data-efficient learning\, pendekatan zero-shot\, serta pembangunan model multibahasa\, khususnya untuk kawasan Asia Tenggara. DESCRIPTION:Seminar Reboan\, in collaboration with the APTIKOM Lecturer Competency Division\, presents an engaging topic with speaker Prof. Iyad Dayoub\, Ph.D. 🤩✨ \n  \nArtificial Intelligence for Very High-Frequency Communication Systems \n  \nSpeaker’s Brief Biography: \nIyad Dayoub is a Professor of Communications Engineering with a strong academic background in electronics and wireless communications (BEng 1993\, MSc 1997\, PhD 2001 in France) and professional experience with institutions and companies such as Siemens\, Supélec\, and Alcatel; he currently serves as Director of the Telecommunications Technologies & Intelligent Systems Department at IEMN-CNRS and teaches at INSA Hauts-de-France and Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France\, where he has also led the development of multiple academic programs in embedded systems and mobile communications; throughout his career\, he has been a member of the French National Council of Universities and an Adjunct Professor at Concordia University (Canada)\, has published over 300 scientific papers\, is an IEEE Senior Member\, and actively contributes to international journals and conferences; he is also an expert reviewer for global agencies\, participates in R&D projects with major companies like Nokia\, Thales\, and Mitsubishi\, frequently delivers invited lectures worldwide including in Indonesia\, and conducts research in areas such as 5G/6G\, mmWave communications\, AI for wireless systems\, IoT\, NOMA\, full-duplex communications\, and intelligent transportation systems\, while supervising more than 35 PhD and 20 MSc students internationally. \n  \nAbstract: \nThe rapid evolution toward beyond-5G and 6G systems is driving the use of millimeter-wave and D-band frequencies\, where conventional communication techniques face significant limitations. This semnar explores how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can address these challenges by enabling advanced beamforming and channel estimation strategies\, particularly in high-mobility and dynamic environments. Emphasis is placed on machine learning-based beam prediction and hybrid beamforming architectures\, which enhance spectral efficiency and reduce system complexity. Furthermore\, we investigate AI-driven radio resource management approaches that dynamically optimize spectrum\, power\, and beam allocation based on real-time network conditions. At the hardware level\, AI-based digital predistortion techniques are considered to compensate for nonlinearities in high-frequency power amplifiers\, improving both signal quality and energy efficiency. This research opens several directions for the academic community\, including the development of scalable AI models\, real-time learning mechanisms\, and cross-layer optimization frameworks.
