DESCRIPTION:Seminar Reboan berkolaborasi dengan Divisi Kompetensi Dosen APTIKOM menghadirkan topik yang menarik bersama narasumber Dr. Esa Prakasa (Kepala Pusat Riset Sains Data dan Informasi BRIN) 🤩✨ \nPengenalan Biodiversitas Berbasis Sains Data untuk Mendukung Citizen Science \nBiografi Singkat Narasumber:\nDr. Esa Prakasa adalah seorang peneliti (Peneliti Ahli Utama) di Kelompok Riset Human Computer Interaction and Visualisation\, Pusat Riset Sains Data dan Informasi BRIN. Saat ini\, Dr. Esa Prakasa menjabat sebagai Kepala Pusat Riset Sains Data dan Informasi (PRSDI)\, BRIN sejak tahun 2022. Dr. Esa Prakasa menyelesaikan S1 di Teknik Nuklir (1998) dan S2 Teknik Elektro (2001)\, dari Universitas Gadjah Mada. Pendidikan S3 diselesaikan di Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering\, Universiti Teknologi Petronas\, Malaysia (2014). Dr. Esa Prakasa memulai karir sebagai periset sejak tahun 2005 di Pusat Penelitian Informatika LIPI\, yang saat ini telah bertransformasi menjadi BRIN. Dr. Esa Prakasa terlibat aktif pada kegiatan riset kolaborasi baik di dalam maupun luar negeri. Bidang yang ditekuni meliputi image and video analysis\, computer vision\, 3D imaging\, biomedical engineering\, dan human-computer interaction. \nAbstrak:\nMetode sains data digunakan dalam upaya mengenali\, mengidentifikasi\, dan mendokumentasikan kekayaan keanekaragaman hayati di Indonesia. Sebagai negara dengan mega biodiversitas\, Indonesia menghadapi tantangan dalam mendokumentasikan spesies secara cepat dan akurat\, sehingga integrasi teknologi machine learning menjadi solusi yang esensial. Pembahasan dalam presentasi ini difokuskan pada tiga hal utama\, yaitu pertama\, riset identifikasi plankton. Riset ini mengembangkan model deep learning untuk melakukan segmentasi (menggunakan model seperti DeepLabV3+ dan U-Net) serta klasifikasi (seperti BiT dan ConvNeXt) pada citra mikroskopis fitoplankton. Hasil dari model ini diimplementasikan ke dalam “PlanktoScan”\, sebuah prototipe aplikasi berbasis web dan mobile untuk mempermudah identifikasi plankton secara otomatis. Kedua\, riset identifikasi kayu. Sistem identifikasi kayu otomatis dirancang menggunakan dua pendekatan algoritma untuk mengatasi metode konvensional. Pendekatan pertama menggunakan Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) seperti ResNet50 untuk menganalisis data visual berupa citra makroskopis tampang lintang kayu. Pendekatan kedua menggunakan Large Language Model (LLM) seperti BERT untuk memproses data non-visual atau tekstual yang diambil dari literatur anatomi kayu. Ketiga\, disampaikan rencana pengembangan platform citizen science yang digunakan untuk mendukung keberlanjutan pengumpulan data. Platform direncanakan berbasis crowdsourcing\, sehingga melibatkan partisipasi masyarakat secara luas. Melalui platform ini dimungkinkan masyarakat umum untuk mengumpulkan data dari lapangan\, yang kemudian akan diklasifikasikan oleh sistem AI dan diverifikasi kualitasnya oleh pakar (validator)\, menciptakan ekosistem dokumentasi biodiversitas yang saling terintegrasi. DESCRIPTION:Deskripsi Topik:\nSeiring berkembangnya Large Language Models (LLMs) dari sekadar penghasil teks menjadi sistem yang mampu menangani complex reasoning\, konteks multibahasa\, hingga perencanaan jangka panjang\, metode evaluasi yang digunakan juga perlu berevolusi. Pendekatan konvensional seperti downstream tasks\, metrik n-gram\, dan benchmark pilihan ganda dinilai tidak lagi cukup untuk mengukur kemampuan model secara komprehensif. \nSesi ini akan membahas perkembangan metodologi evaluasi LLM\, termasuk keterbatasan dari berbagai pendekatan yang ada saat ini. Selain itu\, akan dibahas pula bias struktural baik dalam penilaian otomatis maupun evaluasi berbasis manusia\, serta pentingnya pergeseran menuju kerangka evaluasi yang lebih dinamis dan mendalam guna memahami kemampuan AI secara lebih akurat. \nProfil Singkat Pemateri:\nAlham Fikri Aji\, Ph.D. merupakan peneliti di bidang Natural Language Processing (NLP) yang berfokus pada efisiensi model melalui compression dan distillation\, serta pengembangan NLP untuk bahasa dengan sumber daya terbatas. \nIa aktif dalam pengembangan dataset\, data-efficient learning\, pendekatan zero-shot\, serta pembangunan model multibahasa\, khususnya untuk kawasan Asia Tenggara. Saat ini\, ia juga terlibat aktif dalam komunitas riset NLP Indonesia\, termasuk sebagai salah satu inisiator gerakan IndoNLP. \nSebelumnya\, ia merupakan applied research scientist di Amazon dan postdoctoral fellow di The University of Edinburgh. DESCRIPTION:Seminar Reboan\, in collaboration with the APTIKOM Lecturer Competency Division\, presents an engaging topic with speaker Prof. Dr. Xue Li. 🤩✨ \n  \nMultimodal Data Learning and its Applications \n  \nSpeaker’s Brief Biography: \nXue Li holds a Bachelor of Computer Software Engineering\, a Master of Knowledge Engineering and a PhD in Information Systems. Currently a tenured professor at the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science\, The University of Queensland\, Australia\, he has supervised over 40 doctoral students to graduation. \nProfessor Li’s research centres on data science systems theory\, multimodal data fusion and mining and big data privacy protection. He has long taught required courses in databases and cloud computing for Computer Science students. He has led over 20 projects including Australian Research Council (ARC) projects and published over 200 research papers in leading international journals and conferences. He founded the ADMA International Conference on Data Mining\, published with Springer. His research team has won technology achievement awards from Google\, Microsoft and the Australian government. In 2015\, he was named one of the 50 most influential people in Australia by the Australian Financial Review. \n  \nAbstract: \nData-driven artificial intelligence research spans the entire data lifecycle\, encompassing diverse data sources and formats. Multimodal data processing and learning present numerous challenges\, including metadata modelling\, data collection\, quality management\, and fusion. This talk delves into multimodal data collection analysis and processing within data engineering\, highlighting our team’s contributions. As multimodal data learning becomes widespread\, particularly with OpenAI and large language models (LLMs)\, AI applications face significant hurdles. Multimodal data processing demands innovative algorithm design and optimisation\, as well as semantic understanding. Addressing these challenges involves sequence alignment of semantic units across modalities\, handling many-to-many relationships\, and managing feature engineering complexity and consistency at various granularities. To tackle these issues\, we’ve developed optimisation strategies and algorithmic frameworks like multi-granularity\, multi-level\, and multi-time interval feature alignment\, knowledge graph relationship improvement\, and comparative learning using tabular data. All submissions must comply with the IEEE proceedings two-column format\, with both LaTeX and Microsoft Word templates available on the conference website along with detailed submission instructions. Submissions are due by 15 June 2026 at 23:59 Hawaii Standard Time (HST). The normal page limit is 6 pages\, including references\, although papers up to 10 pages may still be accepted with an additional fee of USD 50 per page exceeding the normal page limit. Submissions must be in PDF format and should not exceed 3 MB in size. ICACSIS 2026 employs a double-blind reviewing process.
